A self-contained unit where the student has their own bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. No sharing of facilities with others.

A private bedroom for one student. The bathroom and kitchen may be shared with other tenants.

Accommodation where students share a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen with others. This often reduces costs but comes with less privacy.

A bedroom that comes with a private bathroom attached, while the kitchen may still be shared.

Spaces such as kitchens, lounges, bathrooms, or study rooms that are shared among multiple tenants.

An upfront payment made by the student to secure the accommodation, usually refundable at the end of the stay if no damages or unpaid rent occur.

The legal contract between the landlord and student outlining rent, rules, and duration of stay.

Accommodation that includes basic furniture and appliances (e.g., bed, desk, chair, fridge, stove).

Accommodation that does not include furniture or appliances. Students must provide their own.

Services such as water, electricity, and internet. These may be included in the rent or billed separately.

The owner or manager of the property who rents it out to students.

A student renting accommodation from a landlord.

When a tenant rents out their room or property to someone else. This is often restricted or prohibited unless approved by the landlord.

The amount of time required before ending a lease or moving out, usually 30 days unless otherwise stated in the rental agreement.

Repairs or upkeep of the property. Landlords are typically responsible for structural and essential maintenance, while students are responsible for cleanliness and avoiding damage.
